transmission honks between 3rd and 4th gear

As the title suggests. The transmission "honks" between 3rd and 4th...that's the best way I can describe it. 2014 f150 stx 5.0l engine. Will a fluid change help?

DIY or going to mechanic? Checking fluid ought to be the first step, sure.
