Default Ecoboost gas tank capacity.

I was looking at the gas tank under a new Ecoboost at a dealership. Visually comparing it to a tank on a 2011 6.2 F 150 there doesn't seem to be any difference in size from the sides and underneath. Is the gas tank shallower top to bottom? The Ecoboost window sticker said standard tank while the 6.2 said 36 gallons. Are all the Ecoboosts 26 gallons.

I'm really pissed that my salesman knew I wanted the 36 gallon tank and failed to mention this. I hand picked every single option you can put in the truck.

I'm sure a 36 gallon tank would fit but could the computer be programmed so the gauges read correctly.

X2 The only thing you can do is (as was earlier stated) get a 36 gallon tank from a 2010, slap it in and re-program the computer.

Look on the bright side...it won't cost near as much to fill up and you can stop in the c-store for a slurpee and a slim jim
