I have a 2012 F-150 3.5 eco boost. I was told my transmission is done for. I was quoted just over 5 grand for a jasper installed and ready to go. I feel like that’s a bit high, but I have never had a transmission replaced.

 

What's wrong with it?

 

There is a transmission recall on these 6 speeds
Ford moved the transmission warranty up to 10 year 110.000 miles i was told
My oil was black at 42k and wrench light came on. I did a filter and oil change and so far it's sill working at 60k

 

OP, how many miles on the truck? Did you search for other transmission issues? Are you having symptoms with downshifting whenever? Hard shifts? Etc...

Have you been towing buildings?

 

mileage? has the trans been serviced before? has it been abused? all this adds up
