Which Transfer Case?
Old thread i know, but seems very pertinent.
If i'm reading this all correctly, unless my shift **** looks like the one above, that says AWD on it, then my 2012 Lariat does NOT have the two speed TOD transfer case in it?

High and Low are different speeds.
2H, 4A, 4H, and 4L is a 2 speed, TOD transfer case.
The one pictured above has 2H, AWD, and 4H. That is a single-speed, TOD transfer case.

This is for sure? Do you have any idea on the function of the TOD case when it's set to 2hi for example? complete front axle disconnect?
In 2 high, the hubs are disengaged. The carrier will still spin, however.
And yes, I am certain that High and Low gear are different speeds. The one-speed TOD only has that, one speed. It is perfectly described in the function of the t-case.

If that's still spinning, it's going to spin the axles then, just not drive the wheels as the hubs are disconnected? Could you technically grab and stop that from turning? Is this from a constant binding from a clutch inside the transfer case then?
Where is the function of the tcase description you're talking about?
