As long as you have a 4x2 not 4x4 the only issue should be the speed being off(and milage) and worse mpg.
Yeah it's a 2wd. It's possible that I someone changed the gear ratio. I'm going to check it again to make sure I did it right. The sticker on the door says it should have 3.55 and I counted almost 3.75 turns on the drive shaft so I assume it's got 3.73 gears in it but it's hard to turn both back tires at the same time and watch the drive shaft. Can anyone get and use forscan or just dealership techs? Is there a cheaper tuner that works good?

Ok. Sorry guys - but, I know what a 'couple' can be to a guy - kinda the same as Guy Time when they say they're only going to be a minute.

Two weeks ago I did get a letter from an attorney's office that is collecting information from F-150 owners in regards to this recall, the wrench on the display, the low batt message and one other thing that I can't remember. I filed that letter in my drawer with everything else and I do only take my truck to the dealer for all oil changes, etc.

My truck only has 85,608 miles on it and hardly goes anywhere now that I'm not working (was maintenance supervision in a Ford plant).
Interesting. I haven't seen anything from an attorney. I would like to see the letter and why they're sending them out. If more people are having problems with this recall I'd be interested to know. Can you post the lawferms name so we can look them up?

They're in Garden City, MI

The issues they site are:
Engine: Hesitates, check engine light on, coolant leak
Transmission: stuck in gear
Electrical: backup camera inoperable, rear defrost inoperable, radio cuts out, key FOB does not work, battery light on
Other: front end noise, brakes grind

Or any other problems with the 2013 Ford F150

I've had the battery light issue every winter - once it wasn't crying wolf. My tensioner was being mean so my serpentine belt was loose and failing to charge my battery. I noticed a clicking sound so the dealer knew exactly what that was - however, two winters later I'm still getting the Low Batt and the message to turn off my radio to go into Battery Save Mode - even when my radio isn't playing.

Anyone know of a good programmer that's not too expensive to correct my 2011 F-150 2wd for different tires and gear ratio? Not looking for performance just correcting my speedometer because it's off so much after the recall.

Forscan is free. To have access to all of the programming capability you will need to get a free 2 month liscense. And then just need a quality usb or bluetooth obd2 adapter and laptop. See the forscan thread stickied at the top of this section on instructions. This is NOT a tuner but should allow you to program the axle ratio to the correct one. I personably have never done it.

This is the one I have. And seems recommended by everyone else

Actually before you do anything crawl under there and see if you can find the part number in the rear end. You can then atleast see if that has been changed out.

A lot of that sounds like every day problems. I mean, brakes grinding? In a lawsuit? I wouldn't expect much from that.

Unplug the battery sensor about an inch away from the battery on the negative cable. See if your battery woes stop.

Speedometer calibrators run around $200, I believe. Never used one myself. That's about half the price of a full tuner product.
