Post the vin#, might be able to determine the exact size tires the truck came with, then we'll know more.

Did you buy the truck used? How are you comparing speed? GPS on cell phone?

I looked at those sctx4 tuners and there like $400 . I got a XL 2wd work truck. It's not like I have a 4x4 with huge tires. The tires I have are less than an inch taller than stock. They should only throw the speedo off by 1 to 1.5 mph, not 10. The dealer says there's nothing they can do. I'm wishing I never had the recall done.😒

Have they tried re-applying the recall?

Per Ford Etis stock is P235/75R 17" A/T BSW so your door is correct.

Yeah, they redid the recall and it shifts a little better now. After putting about 1000 miles on the truck it only shifts hard once in a while but the speedo is still ten fast at 65mph. According to the tire calculator, the tires I have should lower the speedo by 1 to 1.6 mph. My speedometer is 10 mph fast so if I put the stock size back on it will be worse. I did Mark the tires and drive shaft and by checking the rotation it appears I have 3.73 gears. The door ID says I should have 3.55. don't know if I checked it wrong or if someone changed it.

You dont have 4x4 right? It is possible the previous owner changed out the rear end to tow better maybe or if it blew up grabbed a junk yard special and got a different ratio. If thats the case get forscan and update it and see if it fixes it. Its a real possibilty that they used a tuner to fix the speed issue and when the dealer flashed it wiped that out. As long as you have a 4x2 not 4x4 the only issue should be the speed being off(and milage) and worse mpg.

Default Got me worried now............

O boy.
I got my reprogram yesterday and now I'm wondering if I should have. When I got there I asked the dealer's service manager if this 'update' is one that could go the way some of those Microsoft updates go. He said they have had a couple go bad but no more than that.

Ok. Sorry guys - but, I know what a 'couple' can be to a guy - kinda the same as Guy Time when they say they're only going to be a minute.

Two weeks ago I did get a letter from an attorney's office that is collecting information from F-150 owners in regards to this recall, the wrench on the display, the low batt message and one other thing that I can't remember. I filed that letter in my drawer with everything else and I do only take my truck to the dealer for all oil changes, etc.

My truck only has 85,608 miles on it and hardly goes anywhere now that I'm not working (was maintenance supervision in a Ford plant).
