Default Trailer lights not working but blinkers/brakes do.

I bought a trailer early in the summer. A few weeks ago, I noticed the running lights don't come on, but the blinkers and brake lights do. It's not the trailer, I checked with a set of towed vehicle lights we use when towing our car behind our motorhome and they do the same thing. I haven't checked fuses yet, are these on their own circuit? I know it's computer controlled because the lights would come on as soon as I plugged in the trailer lights when it worked so I'm assuming it could sense the load added.

I had a similar problem with the 4 prong flat connector but when I use the 7 to 4 plug lights work correctly. $7 part from Walmart and never even use the 4 prong plug in.
