Default Trailer hitch plug

I've got the factory hitch setup. When I plug in my trailer the menu says that my trailer is disconnected. Is there something I'm missing here?

Ok so I found the bag with the fuse and relay. What's the extra harness for? Why is this stuff already not installed from the factory?

Agreed that the fuse & relay should simply be installed, but they've done that for years like that.
The wiring harness is for a convenient wiring to a brake controller if you so choose to put under your dash. There is the connector that it's suppose to plug into up under there & you simply snap it in... And hook those 4 leads to an aftermarket brake controller.
