I think both cars need a major diet before I'd buy one. The Camaro SS drives like a tank and the interior is an embarrassment. The new ZL1 weighs in at 4200 lbs and GM says it's built for road racing. Who the hell wants to road race a 4200 lb car? The 2013 GT500 will decimate the new ZL1 no questions asked. I'm holding out for the 2016 Camaro on the new Alpha platform when it should weigh in at around 3400 lbs. I think my GTO is a pig at 3750 lbs.

I'm not a Mustang fanboy, but I give credit where credit is due. Ford is doing a helluva job with the new Stangs.

Yes I know its not against the base gt but still with 144 HP more than the boss 302 and its only 2 tenths faster to 60. I would not consider that a spanking by any means.

I agree. I had a 95 GT which I had added a 6lb Paxton to along with a full exhaust and was only putting 285hp to the ground. New stock GT's have much more than that now. Flywheel horsepower back then was 225hp which translated to about 180 rwhp. The new V6 stangs would spank the old GT's. Consider yourself lucky.
