trading in my 2010 king ranch for 11-12 eco boost/6.2?

The lag is very minimum, if any at all. Doesnt sound loke a ricer. If you put on exhaust, its going to have the v6 sound. But otherwise, the thing is very quiet. Be a tough choice between the EB and 6.2. Cant go wrong either way. I would let price determine the choice. If the 6.2 is anything over $500 more than the EB, I wouldnt do it.

We need more information to give you good advice. Such as;
* How often do you tow, is the truck also a daily driver?
* What is the weight of the rigs you are towing?
* Do you tow on mostly flat roads, hills or mountains, or a mix?
* What is the rear end gear ratio of your truck?
* What did you pay for your truck?
All that said, unless you bought this truck for a great price, you would be better off keeping it and modding it if really needed. There are a lot of nice 5.4 mods out there, and it's a pretty darned good engine.

o a near by lake sometimes I take it up in the mountains to another lake.
I hual my mustang to the track which is 60 miles away, the car weighs in at 3500 and trailor around 1700-2000 pounds. So I use it for towing half the year.
I'm not sure on the gears I haven't looked but my guess would be 3.55 or 3.73's
I got the truck last October for 31000 with 52k on it.

Retired and loving it!
The little bit of turbo lag adds to the fun of the EB to me....press the throttle slowly and there is this anticipation before the thrust builds progressively.
Press the throttle quickly -- the lag is minimal, and then the thrust comes on RIGHT NOW!!
I am a fan of the V8 sound and liked the sound of the 5.4 (unless I was towing our 9K TT at 3,800 rpm up a hill with the sound making my teeth hurt!).........but the sophistication and quietness of the EB is soothing -- especially when towing!!! In town it is nearly silent when driven sedately. It's quite an engine, and is by far the most advanced power train in any truck extant.

I just got back tonight towing my TT with the EB. It is a great engine as noted above. I have also towed my TT with the 5.0L with great results. Both these engines have much more power than my old 2003 5.4L Expedition. Based on your needs and location I would go with the EB. I believe that you will get better results with the EB in CO due to the air is thinner. The 6.2L will lose power in higher elevations. I remember driving an old Lincoln Town Car in CO in the 1980's and could barely maintain 55 mph on Rt. 70 in the mountains. You won't have this problem with the EB.

I'm gunna have to go test drive one its sounding like a good idea to me. If it moves out like u guys are saying I can only imagine what they will do tuned. I looked into the five star tuning and since I'm not gunna make my decision to till the end of the year I'm gunna get it tuned and see what she does for now

Yeah, an EcoBoost would give you the best power at your altitudes. I have been tempted myself, but I'm not sure I would spend money on that engine unless it was a 2013 model. There have been too many "turbo condensation" and "shudder at 55" stories on the forums for me. Ford came out with a fix, but some say it didn't help. I know everyone does not have this problem, especially in drier locations, but I wouldn't want to be another unlucky one.
You really should check the gear ratio in your truck, if you have 3.31's or lower it might be worth it to upgrade to 3.73's. That and a few minor mod's/tuning to the your 5.4 motor and you should be able to tow pretty darn well.

Get the EB it's a different animal and for the shudder and condensation thing there are hundreds of thousands with no problems. Being in Colorado the boost is where it's at he'll at altitude the boost is where it's at in my opinion. Rt now you should be getting good rebates and you should be able to get around 42 with dealing and those rebates. Good luck I traded my 10 and haven't looked back
