Default Trade for raptor

Has anyone here traded their 09+ f1150 in for a raptor? I love my 14 King ranch screw 4x4 but for some reason I just started liking the raptor and been thinking real hard about going to test drive one. I never thought of owning one because I always has lifted trucks but it looks like it can be a fun truck to have as a daily driver/weekend you if you wanted to hit up some mild off-road. Why do they seem so high on price still compared to when new?

supply vs demand, and the fact that is a specialty vehicle. They will always maintain a higher value. Hell, my 04 cobra is still almost worth what it was when I sold it in '10.

Price tag probably comes from the bit of exclusivity and the smaller specialized market... Also the fact that there are plenty of performance upgrades over a regular old F150.

I'd wait till the new ones come out it should help reduce the price of the first gens a bit, plus more to choose from when owners trade up for the 2017s.

those 03-04 Cobras were always my favorite! Still fast and good looking.

that's kinda what I was going to see what happens. I know I'm not a big fan of the new ones just yet until it grows on me more but I do want a v8 in it not the ecoboost. I love my ecoboost and is super fast but it the raptor I think it should have that v8 sound and feel

That was my reasoning when I sold my cobra, that the new shelbys would lower its value, but that wasn't necessarily the case. They didn't have much affect if any. It was still an exclusive model of a different body style, and IF the new raptor doesn't include a v8, your going to have some that just prefer the older raptor. They will drop, due to age and mileage, but I would imagine the pristine examples will still fetch top dollar.

mine too. They were by far the best example of that body style mustang looks wise, and defiantly performance wise. I'm still kicking myself for selling mine. I miss that car.

For sure they will always hold their value better than a regular f150, there's just so few of them in comparison.

I'm not so sure that will happen right away. I think it'll be 2019 or so before their value drops and even then it won't be much. After that, like other's said it'll be just like the 03/04 Cobra, 99-04 Lightning, values will go back up and stay up for ones in good condition.

I've always wanted a Raptor, I've always enjoyed driving something a bit different than everything else on the road. My Lightnings, Cobras, SHO's, Excursion and so on (I may have a problem) BUT I could never justify the price tag of a Raptor since I'd never get the chance to use it for what it's built for. Trust me, I tried and I'm usually pretty good at talking myself into a vehicle I don't need but just couldn't swallow the extra 15k over a loaded FX4.
