Default TPMS on/off?

Is there a way to see if the TPMS has been disabled?

I got new wheels and tires this past weekend and I don't know if they installed the sensors. I don't think they did.

I'm not getting a warning and I even let the air on one tire down to 30psi to see if it would come on. Drove down the road. No warning.

I have a X4 tuner and the setting is set to warn me at 35psi.

Any ideas?

I’m glad you posted this as I was going to start a thread on the same subject

Recently purchased a set of 2015 factory wheels and tires. Installed them and started the TPMS learn process not knowing the 2015 sensors wouldn’t work with my 2013 truck. Let air out of the left front tire and the truck never recognized, no surprise

It’s been two weeks and no TPMS light or error codes displayed. The only thing I can think of… my original wheels and tires are in the garage and my truck is sitting right outside next to the garage door.
Is the truck communicating with my original wheels when I park it at home?

Haha holy crap, I didn't think of that. My old wheels are just inside the garage also.

I don't think they are giving my truck signals though single I drove down the road and no warning.

They are. Drive for an hour and see what happens.

So it sounds like all sensors in a PVC tube pressurized to 35psi might work???

Yes it will work! I had my summer wheels hanging in my garage over the winter and my winter wheels do not have TPMS sensors in them and the only time I would get a fault is when I drove over 25 minutes i think it is and then as soon as I would get home my truck would recognize the sensors from my wheels in the garage and reset the TPMS automatically.

I'm just going to raise the warning to 50psi with my X4 and see what happens.

TPMS cannot be disabled, not by ford ( legal reasons) nor by a tuner, although you can adjust the psi trigger setting, as you have done.

not possible, the origional sensors will go into sleep mode shortly after rotation stops to preserve battery life. so after 2 weeks, it's very safe to say they are in sleep mode and not communicationg with the truck.

this has been proven not to work, the sensors need centrifical force to reactivate out of sleep mode.

No it will not work.
the reason your truck is giving fault after 25 min is that is the approx time it takes for the truck to determine after a few internal tries that the sensor(s) are not working/dead. The sensors in your winter tires would be in sleep mode to conserve battery life, and can only be reactivated by centrifical force, or a magnet, air pressure change of +/- 2 psi

So, does that mean I have sensors installed because I have not had any warnings and I've been driving since Saturday with the new wheels....probably +300 miles

Likewise, hundreds of miles and no TPMS light or error codes.

Morehouse, we have three separate individuals experiencingthe same cause and effect, unless we’re all lying.

Anyway – I sold my original wheels and tires today. Ordered new TPMS sensors and the Ford programming tool. I’m going to build a PVC tube for the sensors. Will report back with my findings
