The NEW Toyo AT II's are crap. They were fine the first year, but, after 10K miles I now slide all over wet roads. I just paid $1500 for winter tires cuz the AT II's just don't cut it on damp Seattle hills.

It's disappointing to pay that much for a tire that doesn't perform. Thought about posting them on craigslist for trade, or stopping by my local ma & pa tire store and seeing how much they'd give me on trade. Sucks to think about the money lost though to replace an inferior tire. Also keep thinking to just suck it up and when they wear out, never buying them again.

Snow the tires seems good in, Ice, not so much. Rain is fine in my opinion. Like I said I was spoiled with duratracs/Safari TSR for winter driving.

I wonder if it's the set up of my truck, the tire, the size, psi I run, who knows. I just know I break traction frequently in anything but dry pavement. I don't feel the tire sucks, I love the look of them and noise level, just don't like how they ride in anything but a dry road. I'm open to suggestions from anybody.

Ice - really
I've seen bulldozers slide sideways on ice.
Will look into those duratracs/safari ... Someday

Bulldozers don't have rubber .
Jk

The comparison between the two is just my opinion. Living in Alberta we have a lot of changing weather and I am not happy with the winter performance of the tires. It just seems like the lugs are not really sharp enough to bite in, if that makes sense. In the summer I love the tires, and they get better life than duratracs. Gravel/dirt performance is awesome, mud performance is actually pretty good for an AT tire. Also remember I have the extremes so it would make winter traction a little less than the at2's

after 115 pages I still have questions. I've decided on the AT 2's for no other reason then they look great. I want a m/t look with out the sacrifice in daily driving. I dialed into 285/70R17 because I have 3.55 gear. Does anyone have pics of these on a stock 17" XLT rim. Also anyone with 3.55 gears - are you having decent luck running anything over a 33"? I understand you really sacrifice drive-ability running too large a tire.

Great choice of tires! I just got a set a few weeks ago. I'll post a pic if you want, but I have LT285/75R17s on Raptor wheels. I also have 3.73 gears and a 2" level/fr, 1" add-a-leaf/rr. The 285/75 is 33.8" dia. The 285/70 is 32.7" dia. A full inch difference.

Awesome looking tires, more aggressive than I saw in all the photos I've seen. Every review I read where Toyo ATs were compared to the Nitto Terra Grapplers, gave the nod to the Toyos in off-road prowess. About equal everywhere else, including the 50,000 mile warranty (on both!).

Got a new set of these tires at the beginning of winter 2013. Was very impressed with the way they handled the rain and snow. Very good offroad capabilities too, through the spring and continued throughout the summer. By the next fall, when the rains came I started to notice that the tires were starting to slip in slow bends on the highway and when making quick turns.Eventually, the truck would easily get into a 4 wheel drift in the wet as the tires were not grabbing anymore.Actually, it was scary how quick it was to get into this and on slow bends on the highway was even scarier. By this time I had around 25k km's on them. It was very disappointing. I thought perhaps it was my fault but now hearing that others have had this problem I knew it wasn't me. I do not drive my tires or truck extremely hard. Now I am faced with a new set of tires and am looking at BFG KO2's but unfortunately they do not make the size I need. So I am faced with a dilemma of taking another leap of faith with the toyo's or look elsewhere. And even sadder is the prospect of getting a second set of tires for winter conditions. I hoped they would have been a better lasting tire.
