Nice, they really look good on those wheels and your truck.

Is there enough sidewall clearance with the 285/55 that you dont have to worry about damaging your rims on sidewalks?

Default Sidewall

Yeah man there is plenty of sidewall depth. Probably close to 1/2" of the tire sticks past the rim. These tires look better in person. I lost a little mpg but nothing drastic. Overall avg. has dropped from 16.8mpg to 16mpg and highway has dropped from 19.2 to about 18.2 or so. Still playing with the tunes to dial it in. Road noise is comparable to a BFG at ko. Slight hum at highway speeds.

Any chance we could get pics of the side. Looking at getting same tire and size. Would help. Thanks if you can.

What I was refering to is how high the sidewalls were and if there was enough clearance to prevent accidential scraping.

But I just ran the numbers and your tires are overall 32.34" high with 6.17" of sidewall around the wheel and 11.22" wide

Sorry man. I misunderstood you and I would say that it would be fine for a standard size curb. The tire sticks out past the rim so hitting the curb shouldnt happen anyway at least with the rim. Tire should take the impact.

Default Side View

I dont have a real good straight on side view of the truck yet with the wheels and tires. Just got them a few days ago. Here are a couple more pics. Hope this helps. The tires really look better in person than on the pictures. The side wall has a pretty aggressive stance and tread pattern just looks really cool. I will try to snap a few side shots tomorrow. I do have a 2.5" RC level on front. I actually rode around the first couple of days with no level and never had any rubbing at all. It filled up the fender well nice with no level. 1st and 3rd pics are without level. 2nd and 4th are with leveling kit.

GAPlatinum, the wheels look awesome! You may have mentioned this somewhere in the thread but what size tires are they (look like stock rims)?

I just picked up a 2013 FX4. It came with the Pirelle Scorpion ATR's (275/55R20), which I'm going to swap out for the Toyo's. Wanted to stay on stock rims so I'm going to stay with the stock size tire.

Thanks

He does have the stock Platinum rims on there. You can go up in tire size even with the stock rims. Thought I would mention that in case you were not aware and you want to go to a larger tire.

On stock wheels, depending on the offset and the tread design, without trimming you should be able to go up the these sizes with a 2" level in the front:

18" - 275/75/18 = 10.82" wide x 34.2" high
- 285/70/18 = 11.22" wide x 33.70" high

20" - 285/65/20 = 11.22" wide x 34.5" high
- 305/55/20 = 12" wide x 33.20" high

For perspective stock 20" tire and wheel dimensions are 275/55/20 which comes to 10.82" wide x 31.9" high.

Without a 2" level or some kind of lift I do not think you can go more than 275/60/20 which is 10.82" x 32.99".

As always check with you local tire shop for true expert advice and fittment.
