Reading through these pages I thought this may be a tire for me, but if I'm gonna spend the cash to upgrade its gonna have to have deeper tread then the stock tires...just my preference.
Yes, more void between the lugs, the tread is a little deeper too, 3 ply sidewalls instead of 2 ply, more tread on the sidewalls as well. Thats all I know.

Had our first snowfall here in my area in Ontario.

5-7inches. Went out on some roads but most of it was slushy.

Tires gripped crazy, cut through the slush and sent it flying 6 feet out the sides.
Didn't get sucked into the slush or have any hydro-plane crap going on.

Being cautious first time out. These tires are wide and heavy. Have to get used to the braking and steering in the snow.
Fantastic feel...but they feel heavy. Of course i don't want to be that idiot in a truck who is he first one in the ditch

The Duratracs were the Tire i was going to buy. But I saw these AT II's. Newest Compounds and design with the best tread wear... I went with the New kid on the block.
The Duratracs are a fantastic tire....pricey...commercial 10 ply tire.

What's a good mean lookin AT with a nice aggressive sidewall that's light weight? I have motto trail graps and I'm not liking the horrible mileage they give me and they are wearin out so fast that I only expect 30000 miles outta them. And they are like 90lbs so I'm ready for a nice AT that still has some mean offload looks cause the only time I'm in the trails is to pull friends out so I don't need an MT

Here is my problem. I was dead set on the Toyo MT 33X12.50R20 until these came out. I LOVE the look of the MT's but when I saw the AT 2 I thought they looked amazing as well and would probably be lighter and not hurt fuel economy as much. But after looking at the Toyo website, the AT 2 305/55R20 weighs a pound or two MORE than the toyo MT! So if it isn't going to help out my fuel mileage, what is the advantage of going with the AT 2 over the MT? The MT's have outstanding reviews from 99% of the people that use them. From what i've heard and read they ride quiet and last forever. So what would the advantage be of the AT 2??

Theres a lot more that affects mileage besides the weight of the tire...rolling resistence, tread design, etc.
