Default Toyo Open Country AT II 255/80R17

I'm just about to pull the trigger on some new tires for my stock height 2013 Heavy Payload F150 and saw that Toyo is making an AT II in LT 255/80R17. (33" tall tires) I love tall skinny tires and used to run 255/85r16 on my last F150. Has anyone tried these on their truck yet?

It’s the only tire I run. Had them on several trucks without an issue. The E Rated LT’s are about bullet proof!

Thanks TxOutlaw! I've been running Toyo tires for years too and really like them. Running Toyo CT 265/70r17 right now but wondering if you or someone else has run the 255/80r17 profile on your truck? I couldn't find that profile in an AT tire a couple years ago when I bought my last set of tires.

Ran them for 30k miles and absolutely hated them. I've had many of the A/T tires out there and these I was just not happy with at ALL. They provided absolutely zero wet weather traction in my 2013 EB. I mean I could not take off from a stoplight if there was water on the ground without tires spinning. They also were getting steadily more and more loud as time went on. Granted I did expect this to a degree, but not that quickly considering they claim a 55k or so tread life. I ran 305/55/20 so there was plenty of tread on the ground, always rotated correctly, and pressures were always where they should be. Could not have disliked them more.

I switched to the Falken Wildpeak AT's in the same size and the difference is night and day. Everything is so much better with these tires. Grip is substantially better, wet weather I'm no longer worried about driving in, and they are very quiet in comparison. They were also significantly cheaper than the Toyo's as well.

I like the taller/narrower tire, but have to agree with the above comments regarding wet traction with the Toyo AT series. They are made of a very hard compound and wear like iron, but have poor wet traction as a result . I currently have AT Xtremes (285/75-17) but will probably go with something different next time.

Arrow

Had them on previous 1986 F-150 4x4, only issue I had was tread noise at highway speeds, otherwise
.

Default 2016 f150

Do you guys know if the 255/80r17 will fit on a stock height 2016 F150 Crew Cab Sport?

I'm trying to go as tall as possible without doing a leveling kit.

Thank you.

They should fit fine, just over 32" theoretical diameter.
