What are your overall plans or goals for the truck? Your answer to that question would greatly influence which type of blower you choose.

Generally a roots style blower is better for a truck. This is not always the case, but usually it is. The magnusson (if they still make it), Roush, Saleen, etc all make great roots blowers for the 5.4L and are VERY easy to install. I have installed 2 Maggie's and 1 Roush on 5.4's and they barely took a Saturday to install.

If you look at the powercurve of a roots style versus a centrifugal like Vortech, Procharger, etc, you will see that the power is made earlier and longer in a roots versus the other. The roots won't make as much peak power at the same boost level usually, but most of us use our trucks in such a way that the low end grunt and power is needed. This is why I prefer the roots style.

It also requires less modification, provides a cleaner engine bay that is easier to work on later, and again is easier to install. You can't go wrong with either of them though

and this is where tricks come into play... "usually" is the key word. my procharger made full boost by 2800rpm and held it till 7200 (when i shifted)

Bad *** thread! I love Procharger. I am gona do this...eventually. I called them on the phone and they were very nice. They answered every possible question I had. I asked them for an information packet and they mailed me a nice big booklet of everything you would need to know. All in color via MAIL, not email. I think its the only way to go. Give them a call!!

I requested the info pack and they added a letter saying there is not an application for my truck yet. I think they are a little cornfused. Shouldn't be any different then the Raptor kit.

I've been considering a whipple. I like their CAC. and it has a Ford look to it. Waiting for the bugs to be worked out. They are still making very conservative horsepower (short of 600 rw). But there is a lot of room to move. With strong torque and horse in lower rpms

What are they running?

Honestly I am laughing at "I like their CAC" I don't know what that means but my 13 year old mantality thinks its funny.

Not that there us anything wrong with liking CAC if that is your thing.

LOL. Never thought of it that way. I can't stop laughing.

CAC is a charge air cooler.

That's the whipple for the 6.2 it uses a liquid/air CAC like they use on cigarette boats. Lethal performance is offering a kit. They are boosting 8.0 psi right now. But I can see bigger gains with a smaller pulley and blade throttle body change on the 2.3l blower their using

I got you now. Why add the liquid cooling when you don't have to? I read the hype ProCharger was selling on their site and is all I know about CAC.
