Towing Mirrors - Convex Glass... Really?
I just got my 2012 this week - SCREW, Max Tow with the big mirrors. I drove it home from the dealer and its in the garage with about 25 miles on it so far...
I was taking some photos and noticed the Passenger side towing mirror, top glass says "objects may be closer than they appear" which in my mind means that its a piece of Convex glass - which sucks for towing.. especially when backing up.
I haven't done any real investigation yet since the truck is in the garage but here's the photo of what I'm talking about.... I'm hoping the top peice is flat glass and this is the warning for the lower convex mirror - anyone with experience or knowlege please share.
thanks!

a lot of the difference in how closely object appear in the passenger has to do with a concept called "parallax". We deal with this in Navy Gunnery all time. Basically it has to do with judging distance from different points of view. The easiest way to explain it is to look at the speedometer from the passenger seat while someone else is driving. It won't read the same as what the driver is seeing. Thats why so many passenger mirrors have the objects in the mirror warning and the driver's side doesn't
