2014-15
Hi new here and looking for some info, I am thinking of buying a new truck and am thinking a 14 or 2015 F150 with a 5.0 and 3:73 gears might just be the truck for me.
My question is this what kind of issues do these trucks have if any , will be doing a 4x4 with 33s and getting dual exhaust other then that maybe a tune. I have a 7000lb trailer I pull a few times a year and then a boat or small enclosed trailer as well.
I have been a Chevy person most my life except for a 98 explorer and 99 350 ps, just bought a new 2013 Mustang last fall for the wife with the v6 and after 10k we are really happy with it as its been great so far.
My last chevy was a 06 z71 5.3 4 door , loved everything about the truck but the motor and its lack of power as it had no power under 3000rpms and you had to ring it out if you were pulling anything, just imo is not a good motor for a truck that will be used to pull anything. Then the newer body style chevy is not for me at all and then they still are using the 5.3
So I sold it and bought a dodge 2007 2500 with a cummins and I asked many times before I bought the truck what kinda of issues they had and was told nothing just keep up on oil and fuel filters,,lol well the Cummins motor is great but the rest of the truck has way to many issues for me to deal/put up with and people on the dodge forums just act like the stuff is no big deal.
So to my question what kind of problems or things that can be problems do these f150s have ? , my 99 (gone for awhile now)and 98 have been real good with the explorer just having a few small issues and not reoccurring like on this dodge i have now so any advise or opinions are more then welcome on the fit and finish and power band on the 5,0
Sorry for the long post but am wanting to get all the opinions/info I can on them before I start looking to buy so thanks for any help.

Search for what ?
Thats what the dodge guys told me and I did not know what the problems were to search for.
Turns out the front ends are pretty weak and like to go through hub bearings, ujoints tierod ends
just to start death wobble just to name acouple things.
I have been reading for a few days and nothing has popped up that looks like a reoccurring Problem but sometimes those types of threads get buried or are just hard to find.

Well no one will be able to help if u get a 15 f150 cause it will b a new gen vehicle and usually the first yr gen trucks will have the most issues. I have a 13 fx2 5.0 3.55 and it has plenty of power and havent had any issues with mine the 8000 miles. The biggest issues iv heard is engine knock in some 5.0 and the reverse click.all in all these trucks are awsome.

local dealer has an add for 9 grand off of sticker on 2014's . 2015's are suppose to be the hot ticket so I doubt rebates will be near as much or any at all.
5.0 w/355's or 373's are great combinations and don't have major recalls or habitual problems and compared to GM or Dodge are superior in my opinion.

I just went through the same debate and went with the 14 due to concerns with first model year trucks. That said, I've noticed a few issues with some trucks of this vintage. The back window is known to break out on one side if you use the rear defroster, the factory perelli tires suck, and very few 5.0s on the forum appear to develop a knock (clearly not systemic).
I genuinely think they've got these trucks pretty figured out, unlike other Ford models (I could tell you tons about the Super Dutys).
Regarding your desire to level, keep in mind the 2014 is somewhat more difficult to level. They changed the lower control arm so kits designed for the 2009-2013 trucks won't fit the 2014s. There are somewhat fewer kits, but they're out there.

ThAnks for the info, I was reading about that window issues and just seen a post about hwy vibrations and wondered if that is hit or miss or if its been figured out.
Dont mind doing some mods to improve things but just dont want to fix the same thing every year,,lol
Probably but the time I level it they wil have a few different ways to go as I wont do much more then tint the windows for awhile.
