Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a winner! While Europe managed to F up the world twice (that would be WWI & WWII) the United States was busy being a beacon to the world's dispossessed, including the smartest, most talented people on the planet. The United States in the post WWII era underwrote the security and prosperity of fully 2/3rds of the planet - from Asia to Europe. The US continues to do so even with the crushing debt imposed by domestic social spending and a rampant corporatism that stifles innovation.
Oddly enough the US has spent the last fifty years trying to duplicate what Europe has done in the absence of having to provide the bulk of very expensive defense. But we were willing to make that trade in order to insure those idiots didn't start WWIII. Note that I did not offer to excuse or forgive the errors of national government - all nations bear the scars of their misdeeds, crimes, and immorality. But let me remind you that no one gives a damn about what 98% of the world's nations think. But they do care about what the US thinks, even when it's wrong. And when the totalitarians that make up the bulk of the United Nations wants something done, who do they call? So, to say that the United States of America and it's millions of citizens have made modern life possible is not an exaggeration in the least. It's a fact.

wow, some close minded people in this thread. who cares which country the brand is from. They are built in Texas, meaning they are providing jobs for the american people. That's all that matters. I will never understand "brand loyalty". You guys who will only "buy american" probably own a lot of other things that were made outside of this country. I understand being patriotic, but to knock other people for buying something which is foreign is straight ignorant. Don't mean to lecture, but somethings just have to be said.

Well put. It's nice to see someone with a vocabulary and the ability to use punctuation. Not to mention a good sense of humor and a grasp on history. You make several good points, and I happen to agree with you. I'm curious as to where these other countries are that have a better standard of living than the U.S.? Maybe we're missing something?

Other people around the world hate America because they envy America nuff said.
I've been around and when I hear people bad mouth American's I can pick up on the jealousy. I don't mean to be harsh for what im about to say but i don't sugar coat things...they want what we have. The USA and Canada are not perfect but compared to other places, we are blessed.
As a Canadian I'm not going to pretend we don't need the USA. We rely heavily on the USA......this might anger some but hey it is what it is. That is why I proudly have a Ford & Chevy in the driveway.
Enjoy your 4th as I enjoyed my 1st.
