Well, the title says it all. I'm super bummed out because I loved this baby.

So the crying is over and now I'm back in the market. I had a 5.0, which I loved, but I'm thinking about trying an Ecoboost. I don't want to start that argument, just wondering if there is a difference in value between them.

I'm looking at 2012-13.

Also, how much does 10K miles make a difference on price?

Does anyone use a sunroof?

So if you could have whatever you wanted, what would you need to have.

I would love to find one with a 3:73 E locker.

Thoughts?

Using KBB you can run values with different mileage and see your answer.

I came here to see the totaled truck.

By the time the trucks make it to the used car lot there is no difference in pricing between the 5 and the Eco. There is very little difference when new.

I have a sunroof. I use it more for letting light in vs opening it all the way up but I do use it when I have the windows down. I don't think I want it when I go to buy a truck but when I get in one without it, it doesn't feel right.

Default Totaled my truck. Looking for ideas on replacement.

I can only think of one other factory option that'll have owners arguing whether it's good or bad, and that's a sunroof.
Me, I need one. After 8 years with one in my 2005, 10 months in the 2010 and a year and half, with one in my 2014, I can't stand to be in vehicle without one.
I don't have claustrophobia but, yet I feel too closed in without natural light coming in.
Then there's how nice it is when it's open. That's just a great option to have on a nice day.
11 straight years and 3 different trucks and zero issues with any of them.

So obviously I say yes to the sunroof.

I feel the same way. Just something isn't right. Feel that way about leather seats as well.

I can take or leave a sunroof. Usually on really sunny days I keep the shade closed. I get my sunroofs tinted but I haven't had it done on my F150 yet. I think they just don't make them dark enough.

Only option I would like to have is the touch screen. Sun roof option would be cool too.

My wife's car has a sunroof and I love it. My truck does not have one, and it really doesn't bother me. It is just one less thing that can leak or break over the years. More than a sunroof I would prefer the electric rear window that I had in my EcoBoost. That is just my humble opinion though.

As for engines, test them both and see what one you like more. I liked the straight line power of the Eco, but I like the more controlled acceleration of the 5.0. If I am in the dirt it is much easier to control when I break away the rear tires in a turn, how far it will slide, and when it will recover. I never quite got the hang of it in the Eco, as you had to a wait a split second for the turbo's to give you all your power. I never got the timing down well enough to really enjoy it.

Sorry about the truck, and if you have the time/desire post a picture of the damages, and maybe the terrible story of how it came to be. I am always amazed when I see crashes how well our trucks hold up, or in really bad ones, how well they protect those inside that matter most.

Good luck on your search.

I have a 5.0 and after driving my dads 3.5 I really feel like I made the wrong decision.

10K miles shouldn't make a big difference on pricing, there are a million other things that could make up for those 10K miles.

Shame ol' red is totaled, very pretty truck (looks just like mine lol)

I LOVE the sunroof! My first car had a sunroof and I loved it, traded it for a Mazda 3 (couldn't get the sunroof because I was too tall and the sunroof brought the ceiling down about 5 inches. Now that I got my F150 and have MORE than enough room for the sunroof I have it again, and if its over 50F and not raining, my sunroof is open. ALWAYS.
