Torn between Flowmaster and Magnaflow- wanting personal opinions

It's the tune. Back pressure is a myth. You need a tune to take advantage of the increased exhaust flow

Back pressure is a funny thing. When one of my cars was 100% stock, I put a turbo back exhaust on it and nothing else... I lost 3 PSI across the curve. Back pressure will play funny games with vehicles.

Magnaflow. I got the 14" SIDO with a custom catback installation rather than prebuilt cutback. Still love the installation and the sound is awesome. Mellow when you want to be gentle and has a great, agressive rumble when you want it. Check the link below.

You have to increase your timing with free flow exhaust and you will see gains above and beyond any chambered system. The backpressure doesn't have anything to do with it.

Hey buddy, I feel your pain!!!!!! Even when you do decide, you will still hear another truck drive by somewhere with the other brand muffler that you did not get and want to switch. I was stuck just like you for about a year until I narrowed it down to what I have now.
Maybe this can help. This is my thought process on the matter and my opinion based on what I wanted.
I wanted a loud but deep smooth exhaust. Only the magnaflow and flowmaster sounds made my ears happy, but there are many sizes (magnaflow) and series (flowmaster) to choose from.
In the end I went with magnaflow because they dont make the popping sound that flowmaster make when the engine revs back dow or decelerates.
If you want loud, go with the 11 or 14 inch magnaflow or 40 series or super 44 flowmaster. If you want quiet go with the 22 or 24 inch magnaflow or 50 seried HD or big block flowmaster. If you want just right in the middle, get the 18 inch magnaflow or super 40 or delta flow 40 flowmaster.
I ended up doing a true dual exhaust with an x pipe and one dual in dual out magnaflow 18 inch. I love my set up and no popping!!!

Interestingly enough, one of the guys from parts called me and said they have 3 F150s (07, 09, 09) sitting down there that belong to some of the techs. All three with different systems- MF, FM, MBRP. Strangely enough. At any rate, I'm going to pop down tomorrow and have a listen and make the choice from there. Looks like it's all leaning towards magnaflow, but I'd really be interested in hearing the MBRP setup the one guy has- I did some sound clip searching- and for the price on that, it's sure close enough to what I am looking for that I might be willing to sacrifice a little "perfect" to save that kind of dough
It's my Christmas present from my wife- so I can't go too crazy- otherwise the setup you have sounds sweet
