Well, this thread and others like it make reexamine my decision to go and pick up my 52k Ecoboost truck today! Hate to think I am paying that kind of money for a lemon!

Any vehicle you go and pick up could be a lemon. There is no way to tell. If you are worried about the EcoBoost, don't, it's a great engine and there are many on the road working just fine.

The Factory sticker says it was produced on 10/29/13 so I should be good, right? In all my reading I haven't seen anyone post the reason that I am picking the Eco over the 5.0. I drove both trucks back to back, my impression was the eco was this quiet little rocket ship and the 5.0 was like my 98 F250, a mans truck but the real reason I picked the eco is I believe that the technology in the Eco motor is the wave of the future and anything else is outdated. I hope I am making the right decision, I guess time will tell.

10/29/12? You should be fine. Mine was built before that and is fine. The engines are good, they are reliable. Many V6 haters on here that are making the problem sound much worse than it is. You are getting the future of trucks. Ford is selling the Ecoboost engine in many models and the F150 is being made with that engine somewhere around 64% of all trucks made now. The only thing I regret with the 3.5 is not having that V8 sound but then again, a nice peaceful and quiet ride is nice too. Again, don't be negative about your purchase, if you have these ideas that you are buying a lemon you will worry about that all the time and won't be able to enjoy the new ride.

Yeah 10/29/12 sorry I have fat fingers. I hear what your saying its just a little disconcerting that all these people have these problems. I love ford, have two in my garage right now, and own bunch of their stock, I just can't believe more isn't being done to fix this issue and the apparent "fix" isn't fixing anything and hurting the performance of the truck that people paid good money for. Got to get ready to catch a plane to Seattle to go pick it up, wish me luck.

All these people? It's an extremely small percentage. Relax, have fun.....your picking up a new ride! What are you getting anyway (model wise, I know you are buying a F150)

It's a 2013 157 Screw4x4 lariat with all the bells a whistles except the max tow but it has 3.73. If I had more time I would link the web address for it but my phone is supposed to be off at the moment.

Congrats on the new purchase!!! For the record, I have had my 2011 Eco now for over a year and a half with absolutely no problems and it still puts a smile on my face every time i get behind the wheel. So go get your truck and enjoy the hell out of it!!!
