Hi, I had the same problem when I bought my F-150 screw in the summer of 2012. I decided to go with the 5.0 because I keep a truck longer than the warranty last, and I was worried if something went wrong with the turbo how many thousands of $$$$$$ it would cost to fix it. It sounds crazy, but I do not want to spend thousands of $$$$$$ when a truck is 5 or 7 years old on turbo alone.

Love my 5.0!
Love the way this engine revs and growls! Rarely if ever needs to upshift on hills cruising the highway. Query and as smooth as glass when cruising it at idle when you want it quiet.
The hp and mileage differences between the engines are negligible.
The eco is only .2 seconds faster to 60, & only .1 second faster in the quarter mile on regular. You can full up with ethanol, and make up that difference and then some with the coyote, plus the growl turns savage sounding run corn juice!
All that for alot less money, which you can use to buy all the toys you will want once you own your truck.

The 3.5 EB has you guys fooled thinking it has quicker acceleration cause the transmission is programed to stay in a lower gear longer,,, I did test drive both,,, I just have no faith that the twin turbos will be reliable based on Ford's past history of failures on their turbos on their diesels,,, the turbos are considered a normal replaceable part that wear out just like brake pads.

suggestion: take a look at the Toyota Tundra,,, I don't like it cause of the timing belt issues in the V8 and the restricted vision and blind spots it has,,,, but you may like it,,, besides,,, it did tow the space shuttle!

It's not the transmission programming, look at the difference in the torque curves between the 2.

I am going out today to shop for a new truck but I got 2 things going against me that most people don't have that makes it tougher to even get the salesmen to deal with me, one is a straw purchace and the other is a blow out.
A "blow out" is where the salesman will intentionally "blow me out" cause I make a ridiculousy low offers and they don't want to waste their time with me.
A "straw purchace" is buying the truck and placing it in someone elses name.
I will make a full report of my new truck buying experiences at the end of the day in case anybody is interested.
