Topper / Shell / Cap / Canopy fitment question

Well Minneapolis is right on the Mississippi, and technically my house is west of the Mississippi, but the nearest dealer is either in Missouri or in Montana. Too far, especially if I ever needed warranty repairs.
Scraping the windows this morning got me thinking about the windows in between the cab and the bed. Would they ice over? If so, they'd be impossible to scrape. Interior heat might melt the cab rear window, but the toppers front window would stay frosted. Is that how it ends up working?
If so, I may end up getting the cab to topper boot seal and retrofit a sliding rear window so I can get some heat into that area.

Found mine used on craigslist. $600. Has the drop down window but not slide. With my dogs I want to be able to open my glass for them. New window is $150. Other than that I love it and $600 is an awesome price. Just have to be patient and check craigslist every day

Got mine slightly used for half price of new.... I'll wrap it later this spring with a brushed titanium vinyl.

I'm looking to buy a Shell for my truck. So many different names for the same thing *lol*
Anyway, I've been looking at used ones. I'm trying to figure out if there was a difference between the 2004-2008 toppers versus the 2009-2013 ones.
Also if the cab makes any difference, like if the Regular Cab is at a different angle than the Extended Cab. I have a Regular Cab.
Anyone know?
