Default top speed

In my 2013 platinum with the 5.0 is the top speed governed? I assume it is but the truck won't go over 100mph-it seems like it's hitting a redline which it is not according the tach. Any thoughts?

Yes, you are hitting the speed limiter.....your tires are rated for no faster than that......do you REALLY want to take your 6,000 pound vehicle faster than that on tires rated like yours???? Not me.....

Yes it's governed. I forget to what exactly, 96 or 101 maybe?

i know my 6.7s start hitting the limiter around 118.... thats plenty fast with 8500 lbs.

Vehicles are limited by the rating of the supplied tires. I don't know if a truck/off road tire (DOT) rated for more, maybe there is one.

sad thing would be to have a blow out at the limiter speed, and when they are trying to find the cause see the black box said it was at 100+, tire gave out and whoever is left with the remains also has a truck not covered by insurance.

If your worried about going any faster than 100mph, you probably shoudn't have a truck. Thats what mustangs & sports cars are for.

Those of you who actually answered my question without also giving me life advice thank you. The tires are rated to 112mph and I haven't had a vehicle in many years that didn't have h, v, or z rated tires. I was surprised that it was limited to around 100.

I'm not sure what this has to do with my question.

And you probably think we should be limited to 10 round magazines, etc....
