Go for it! I don't know what I'd do without my tool box on my current truck. That's why I insist on having a 6.5' bed; otherwise you are left with practically no space for hauling.

I keep emergency stuff, tools, whiskey, duct tape, fishing rod, etc. in mine. Just handy to have all of that "stuff" with you.

Let us know what you decide.
Actually the Bak box is made of the same material as the F1 cover. It is supposed to support up to 400 lbs. Not sure how you could stuff that much stuff in it though because it is rather small. It works well and folds almost completely out of the way and is very easy to completely remove.

As far as leaks my F1 gets a few drops of water at the tailgate where the step is only in the heaviest of rains. I am very pleased with how water tight it is.

I have a SwingCase tool box. It easily fits under the tonneau, but also locks if you don't have a secure bed. Holds pretty much all the little stuff I need to carry. I want to get another for the driver's side to hold my spare tire jack and more bungies/tie downs.

Although not very big and doesn't hold that much, the BaK Box works for me. You also hit the nail on the head with proper installation reducing the change of leakage. I have an F1 which I installed myself. I've driven in some pretty wicked rainstorms with no leakage.

My coworker has the bak box, I love it! He sold his tool box as he doesn't even need it anymore

I personally save them for my LB's, this 6.5 box is short enough already. I'm still a little surprised I bought another SB after selling my last dodge...maybe its the extra few inches that made it tollerable. lol There are only two of us in this family currently so the back seats are almost always up and where the mats don't cover the floor there are towels to add a little protection for what gets tossed back there.

Gentlemen, Thank you all for your input and ideas. I appreciate you taking time to respond. Unfortunately it will be 5 weeks before my truck arrives however I will study your responses and see what best fits my needs. Thanks again!!

Definitely need a toolbox! I use mine for carrying jumper cables, tow straps, tie downs, spot lamp etc. Keeps me from having to carry those items under the back seat.
