Default Took the truck to the dealership for these issues:

1. HVAC - Passenger side blows cold, driver side blows hot
2. While driving 45-55 mph brake and accelerate truck acts like its not in gear then bump slams into the correct gear.

Lucky for me I have the premium extended Ford warranty, for part 1 above I had to have the left side actuator and motor assmbly replaced, for part 2 I had to have the automatic transmission main valve assembly overhauled, the regulator valve was sticking and had the PCM and TCM calibrated. I thinkk it took care of my issues and only cost me my deductable....could have been around $2000 worth of labor and parts...The extended warranty definitly came in handy for this work that was done to my truck.

Can you tell me a bit more about issue #2? I think my truck is doing something similar.

Loafing around in 5th or 6th with the toque converter locked around 1200rpms, take my foot off the gas for a few seconds and coast, then get back on the gas decently, the rpms jump up 200-300 like the truck isn't in gear, then the torque converter slams/thumps and locks again. Feels real harsh inside the truck.

Does this sound like what your truck was doing. I have not taken it to the dealer yet, I've just been too busy. But I can pretty much duplicate it on-demand, so hopefully that means easier to fix.

Stien78 - That was exactly my issue, I got real sick of this because it has put me in some compromising positions as I tried to pass slower vehicles....became dangerous at times.

Do you think the overhaul of the main valve assembly would fix the harsh 1st to 2nd shift as well? I've got a bad 1 to 2 shift, and cant seem to find a fix from the dealer.

"well, we reflashed it. Drive it for a 100 miles and let us know if it helped....." So sick of this answer from the dealer.

It may in your case, along with PCM/TCM update if needed for TSB 11/8/12. They road tested after that update and still found harsh shifts. EECTEST has no codes. found pressures are erratic and high @ 90 psi in drive at idle. NESSTO R&R main control and overhaul, founf pressure regulator valve sticks, free valve clean and reassemble, topped fluid, retested OK.- A stated from the invoice. Hope it helps.

Issue 1 is the blend door actuator. Simple fix and a common issue.

Not sure about #2, my trans is smooth as silk, and got even smoother with a tune.

Yes the blend door actuator is a common issue, mine happened to be the left side actuator (I have the dual zone climate control) and is a PITA to get to, entire dash comes out easy 6-8 hr job.

PS- My trans is smooth a silk now also.
