Default Which tonneau do you like best?!?

All,

Howdy. I hopefully going to pick up my new '14 SCREW lariat today and am starting to think about accessories. On my last truck I had the ford branded folding tonneau and was pretty happy with it aside from the lock not working 100% correctly. Is there another folder out there that is nicer and/or a better value? Should I consider a roll up? I've been a bit leery of them due to the potential of a large snow load stretching it out.

TIA.

There are tons and tons of threads just like this, so you might want to search and see what everyone recommends. It is all about your needs and what you want though. Everyone uses their's for a different purpose, hence so many options.

I've had Extang and BakFlip VP on my previous trucks and ended up ditching them and going with Peragon twice now on two different vehicles. Incredible product and hands down the best service you will find from an aftermarket product manufacturer.

I got that 4 section hard cover from Ford and really like it. It seems pretty solid and keeps the bed totally dry even in heavy rain. I got it thrown in as part of the deal when I bought the truck.

I want to replace my existing cover with one of these bad boys! I feel that they might be stronger and harder to break into.

If you want a roll-up but are worried about snowfall, check out this blog post I did about one of our customers whose truck got loaded with heavy snow: http://www.agricover.com/blog/2013/0...loads-of-snow/

I love the look of the Bakflip ones, however I need full access to my bed for my ATV, so I just have the Ford rebranded roll-up cover, which has held up very well after 2.5yrs.

To the OP I have an Access Vanish Roll-up cover and it has support bars that roll up with the cover. So when it does snow its not as if there is no support in the middle of the bed. Also if and when it does stretch a bit you can adjust the tension to keep it taught. If the fabric on a soft folder gets stretched in between the support bars it cannot be tightened. Just my $.02. Good luck with your search, I know I spent quite a bit of time on it.

I just installed a BAK Roll-X on mine and I love it! It's got a hard substructure so it won't sag. Look online for some videos of it, and then call the factory direct when you are ready to purchase it and ask for Morrie. He will fix you up at a substantial savings over retail.

I like my access roll up covers best. They are great and don't stretch in Iowa snows.
