Was going to start with the standard bds 4 or 6" lift kit. Then see how ride is vs my level. I might upgrade to Fox Reservoir Coilovers after, but it's a lot of money on top of basic kit. That way should ride much better without a strut spacer on top of the stock strut.
I had a level kit in my 2012 with 35" tires. I really felt the ride was very harsh and disappointing. I loved the way it looked but hated the drive.
Oh man! Once I put in the lift, and spent the extra on the BDS Fox shocks, the drive was night and day. It was incredible and a lot of fun to drive. And it was surprisingly a much bigger feel than the levelling kit.
When I went to pick up my truck, after the install. I was surprised at how big it looked. Like big ! I honestly thought the shop accidentally ordered the 6" lift and installed it. I really questioned them about this and was re-assured it was the 4" lift kit. It's a whole different world going from a level to a real lift kit.
I absolutely love the way it drives. Way tighter than the factory or any levelling kit. I have no regrets, whatsoever. Worth every penny IK spent. It's fantastic on and off road.

Yeah, probably going with 4" then. I looked up some pictures and to me a 4" with 35s looks better. 6" with 35s look like you skipped leg day a little bit and should be running 37s. I don't want to go with 37s with my 3.55 gears and even with 35s might have to regear at some point.

I creeped this guy from my living room, then asked him when I left the house. He’s running the Rough Country 6” kit. Not sure if 33’s or 35’s but he’s running a 2” wheel spacer.

Looks good. I wanted to get a rough country lift for price, but was always worried about the quality. Heard mixed things about them. Like what is sacrificed to get them 1,000$ cheaper than competition.

Is it due to the offset? I see a lot of people here running 35's with a 2.5 kit.......Would going with a 35x11.50 make a difference? I'm assuming the width of the tires is the issue, not the height. I have plenty of clearance with the 34's I'm running now.

I have a 2011 XLT supercab 4x4 that has stock 235 75 17s. I have come across a set of lariat 18s (stock tire that comes on the lariats i believe are 275 65 18s) that I am tempted to get and ever so slightly improve the look of my truck.

I know the wheel and tire package is wider and a slightly larger diameter. Where the 18 is offered for the same basic truck I assume the larger wheel will fit but can anyone provide me some piece of find? I am very much new to tweaking factory settings.

Is there a recommended way to update the trucks settings to accomodate for the larger diameter and correct the speedometer and odometer?

I know these are basic questions so any help is appreciated. This seemed like a good thread to get some good information but forgive me if the post should be elsewhere on the forum.

Here is the tire size you said you have and what you think you are wanting to do. Speedo is not off much and you shouldn’t have any problem at all fitting them. The other photos are what your speed would be on the highway.

I doubt it enhances the value at all, likely hurts it in a typical resale market. I’m an uber car geek and am always looking for trucks or cars for friends and often see nearly identical trucks for sale - the modded one often doesn’t even come to the price a well kept stock one does. Spending money on them is like investing in a boat, you’ll never get out of it what you put into it.
