I know this sticky is mainly for fitment on lifted/leveled trucks, but I'm wondering if a 275/40/17 tire would fit on a 17x8.5" wheel? It is the stock 17" wheel that comes on the XL's. I am looking at some Nitto NT05R drag radials to throw on there and want to make sure they would fit. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I thought the stock rims were only 7.5" wide, but even that is fine with a 275 width tire; most (all?) trucks with 18" rims have 275s stock.

That was based on me measuring them. Maybe I didn't measure them correctly as it was about 3am lol

I will be purchasing new 20x9 rims (stock ones are 20x8.5), and will also be buying 285/65r20 nitto terra grappler g2s. I just ordered a 2.5" front level with a 1.5" rear block. My question is on the offset for this specific set up I got going here. I want the tire to stick out on the sides an inch at most. I also do not want to have to deal with any modifications like trimming or anything. Which would work better for me, the +20 mm offset or +01 mm offset? It would be great if anyone with these tires or similar ones could share some pictures and advice along with their offsets!
Hey man - don't take this as gospel since I am not running the exact setup you are looking at, but here's my two cents: I have a 2014 with a 2" level in the front, nothing in the back. I had this same issue a few months ago when I switched out my wheels and tires. I wanted a much bigger tire with better performance, but didn't want to take a can opener to the wheel wells of my truck. I currently run 275/65/20, so the ones you want will be a hair wider. In my personal experience on my own truck and dealing with tons of other trucks, most of the tire sizing problems come from the outermost part of the wheel well, so the lower the offset is, the more likely a larger tire is to cause problems. Again, that isn't always true, but that creates way more problems on a 34-35" tire (like the one you're looking at). Long story short: keep the offset a little higher, or in my opinion, go with the +20, that is what mine are. Also keep in mind the tire will probably sit up to a half inch lower than listed on the company's website, and you'll most likely need to do some trimming on the valance plastic up front but it is super easy. Hope this helps and would love to see the finished product.

Anybody have pictures or experience with the following:

2009-2014 FX4
2" level
18x9 +18offset
34/12.5-18's (preferably BFG KO2)

I searched and really didn't see anything that matched what I was looking for.
