Default Where are you guys buying tires and rims

Where are you getting your tires and rims from any really good experiences that would make you recommend a certain vendor

A question without reading back through all 267 previous pages......
I have an XLT with the standard 17x7.5 rims and 265/70/17 tyres which are getting to the end of their life. The truck has no lift or level.
I'm tempted to go a size larger with tyres - 285/70/17. From what I've read, the rims are wide enough for that size but will I encounter any rubbing or interference issues?

What is the overall height of your trucks after the level lifts and tire upgrades? I live in a highrise with underground parking and the sign says 6'8" tall, now I clear it no problem and my antenna does hit it but barely, the antenna probably sits 5" taller then the roof of the truck. Anyone that could help me with some of this info would be much appreciated

I'm not sure with the 17" rims, but people have ran 33" tires on stock wheels

Look at this thread from awhile back with people posting their set ups with no level or lift:

Thanks for the link - I've already tried to find the answer on that thread but most people are either running 18's, 20's or aftermarket rims with a different offset. I've not come across anyone yet running bigger tires on standard XLT 17" rims with no lift/level

I've seen dealers upgrade their stock trucks with that size tire and no other mod's. I'm assuming that you have a 4x4. So it should work.

Hey all,

So I just installed the AS 2" leveling kit and rear blocks and now I'm in the market for new wheels! I'm set on the new Ballistic Scythe but I need your help. A local wheel dealer told me they wouldn't fit on my truck with less than a 4" lift but I just can't see that. They are available in two options, -12mm offset with 4.5" BS or +12mm with 5.5" BS. Will these wheels fit without a 4" lift? And also, which offset would keep my wheels tucked in more (similar to stock stance)? I'll be tossing some 33-34" Duratracs on them if that affects the decision!

What truck/wheels do you have now? I have 20" wheel 8.5" wide and +44 offset as my stock wheel. I just put on a 2" leveling kit on my Platinum and will be running 20" wheel 9"wide +18 offset 5.7 backspace with a 275/65/20 tire and this will fit fine on my truck with no rubbing. The tire will stick out about 1" to 1 1/2" further out then my stock set up.

The more (+ offset) you have for your wheel the less the tire/wheel will stick out. The more(- offset) you have the more the tire/wheel will stick out.

Default Tires and Level for an Fx2

I am putting a 2 inch leveling kit on my 2013 Fx2 this weekend and I am then wanting to get some bigger tires. The tires I have now are the stock 265/60/18 and I am looking at getting the Nitto Terra Grapplers 275/70/18, or the Cooper Zeon LTZ's (also 275/70/18). According to a size graph these tires should be 33.2 inches so will they fit my truck with just a 2 inch level to the front? Also which tire do you guys recommend? Thanks!
