I have 275/70/18 Duratracs on stock rims. Looking at several different 18x9 rims. I want to add some small fender flares and move them out a bit. My local tire guy says to get a rim with a -12 offset which I calculate will move the tire out about 2.25". 1" is about 25-26mm. I have seen various combos on here with both 0 and -12 and they all seem to be out beyond the fenders at least an inch.

He also said if I go to a 20x10 I'll need more offset as the wider rim will require it. Probably not going that direction but just curious if all 18x9 rims and their offsets are created equal.

Here is a before and after picture of my 2012 Lariat. I have the 285/75r18 Toyo AT2 extreme tires and a 2inch leveling kit in both pictures and then put the 7033 pro comp wheels on with a 0 offset and 5inch backspacing. I didn't have any rubbing issues when I had my stock wheels on my truck but when I put the 18x9 pro comps on I had to do some minor trimming in the front. I love how it turned out and couldn't be happier.

ndnboy, did you ever get any replies? i have an 09 Lariat 4x2 with stock 20's and 2" drop shackles. Did you find a set of tires? What size did you find. On stock 20x9s i think i can mount, 275/65/ with 20mm offset, 285/55/with 0 to 14mm offset. i have read earlier f the 305/45/22s but missed the offset, these might rub in the front either fenders or upper control arm. i have to measure these out n my truck. unless you have more information. are you considering aftermarket wheels?

My dad has a bigger set of tires he wants to put on his new aluminum truck that he had on his 2014 but they won't fit because of this. Is there a remedy that you know of that "pushes" that bar any? Sounds like it is not recommended, being called a crash bar and everything.
