285s will fit a 7.5" wide wheel. Lots of folks running 295s on factory 18x7.5s. I've seen 12.5" tires on 7"wheels with no issues although at that point it does take some playing with tire air pressure to get even contact patch.

At first I was thinking to myself, no problem fitting a 285 onto a factory rim that had 275s on them. When I punched the numbers into the tire calculator and saw that 285 was actually 11.2", it got me a little concerned with fitment on the 7.5" rim.

Well, maybe I'll give it a try and see how it goes before making the commitment and expense of new wheels.

Default New wheels

After several pages and some test fitting at discount tire I settled on some MB 20x9 matte black wheels with 305/50r20 nitto terra grappler g2's.

No rubbing from lock to lock. Wheels are 18 mm offset.

Tires stick out a bit but the stance is completely different over stock. Maybe one day I may do some pocket style flares ( but I doubt it)

Just curious, but what's the max tire size in inches we can run without a lift? I'm wondering this because I'm wanting to get a 4 inch lift, and they say only 35s, but I'm currently running 33's on stock wheels with no lift and I have no issues whatsoever, and with a 4 inch lift, 35s would seem small, I would think. Any advice?

I've pondered the cost vs reward issue myself. I'm currently running a leveling kit with 35s. I couldn't justify the added expense just to be 1.5" taller with same tire size. If I'm going to spend big money, get a big lift and even bigger tires. Stage 3 has a 8-9" kit now for $2200 that easily clears 37x13.50s. I'd be comfortable spending that over a 4".

I'm sure i've missed it somewhere but on the factory 2011 Xlt 18's what's the offset, I'm looking at a few different rims options like the XD Spy's 18x8.5 with +18 offset and moto metal 951 18x9 with +30 or +18 offset. Just curious if these would would with little to no rubbing on stock suspension?

I'm not worried about tall. I'll be going wide. I'm planning on running either 13.5 wide or 14. Just have no idea what kind of offset to do. Or if the wheel even provides that or what. I'll be buying different wheels, for sure. Just gotta figure out when.

From the chart linked in the first post of the thread, stock 18" wheels are +44 offset.
