Looking for some advice. I have the stock 18's on my 2013 fx4 for winter wheels, but they look so small. I want to buy new winter tires that have a really high wall so it fills more space. What's the highest wall I can put? Suspension is stock, FX4 2013 3.73.

Thank you

Nice truck. I have a 2" leveling kit and I want to put 33" MT Baja ATZ P3's. It sounds like I'll have no trouble putting these tires if you aren't rubbing with 35's. What do you think?

I have no problem with 35s and 2" front level

You will have no problem. 2" with 315/70r17 MT Baja ATZ P3's.

This is one of the nicest FX4's I've seen... good job!

The 33" shouldn't be a problem but the section width of the tire may be, mine is a close fit and at full crank is only about a 1/4" from fender well

Did you have to do any trimming? Whats the offset on your wheels?

Ok, I have returned after a decent hiatus. I'm not sure how to use that tool but I have done some more research and hope that I'm closer to an answer...

To recap, I'm looking at the BMF S.O.T.A 20" wheels for my 2013 FX4 (I'm currently on stock 18s). I plan on getting a level lift on the front, but for now I'm more concerned with width of the actual wheels than vertical clearance. Once I get the width situation sorted out I'll figure out what size tires to get.

I've found at BMF's site that they list a few different sizes of wheel as compatible with my truck. I believe that stock 20" wheels for the F-150 are 8.5" white, and the most narrow wheels BMF offers are 9". Their page is here but here are the details for the narrowest wheels, spelled out as size, bolt pattern, offset, backspace

20x9 6x135 0mm 5.0"
20x10 6x135 -19mm 4.75"

Sorry in advance that I don't know what offset and backspace means... Since phantomblackgto said that a 9" wheel with 0 offset would stick out, would a 10" wheel with -19mm offset stick out less? I really like the look of the S.O.T.A. wheels so I'm hoping that I can find something that fits fairly well.

Assuming you have stock 18 x 7.5 +44 offset (6" back spacing) w/ 275 tires.

A 20 x 9 +0 offset (5" back spacing) will stick out 1.75" farther - calculated by taking the difference in back spacing of 1" (pushing the wheel farther out) plus 1/2 the difference in the wheel widths (9" - 7.5") pushes the wheel out an additional 0.75". This assumes the same 275 width tires. Wider tires will push it out even farther.

A 20 x 10 -19 offset (4.75" back spacing) will stick out 2.5" farther - calculated by taking the difference in back spacing of 1.25" (pushing the wheel farther out) plus 1/2 the difference in the wheel widths (10" - 7.5") pushes the wheel out an additional 1.25". This assumes the same 275 width tires. Wider tires will push it out even farther.

You might get away with a 275 on a 9", but not a 10". It is best to check the tire manufacturer's website for safe wheel widths for the desired tire width.

The rimsntires calculator is very easy to use. Just plug your stock tire and wheel size on the left. Plug in the new tire and wheel size on the right. The bottom picture will show you how the new combo will match up against stock (the picture right above on the left).

When you go with an aggressive offset like the -19, you change the geometry of the whole turning radius whereas you will most likely be looking at a 4" or 6" lift rather than a leveling kit to clear everything. Of course the opposite problem occurs when you try to go with a wider tire on a wheel closer to stock back spacing where you then run into problems clearing the upper control arm. Finding the right combination for the look you want can be a bit of a challenge sometimes.

Do the 2014 f150's also have the 6x135mm bolt pattern?
