Default What size tire on 18x9 rim?

I have a stock fx4 and am looking to buy rims. Most of the rims I have been looking at are 18x9. It looks like most people on here are going with 18mm offset? What size tire can I fit? I have been looking at 275/70/18s but I would think they're a little narrow for a 9 inch rim. Would 285/65/18s be a better option or will they rub?

Thanks
Brian

295/70/18 are taller than a 315/70/17 in most cases. I run both those sizes on my work trucks. I like the 295/70/18 it also has a high load rating. 315/70/17 is wide over 13 inches. Very good for mud. Need power to turn them fast. I only run that size on my v10.

Default 2013 xlt eb 4x4

So after reading also half of the tread my head has just about spun off with all the information out there. If I could weed through it all I could probably answer my own question but wanted to reach out to anyone that has had live experiences. I just bought the truck and an interested in using the following set up (a fellow f150 member has this set up too). Looking to install an autospring 2.5" level kit on a set of Bilstien 5100 shocks set at "0" up front with a matching set of Bilstien 5100 rear shocks and a 3" block. For the time being I'd like to install a set of Nitto Trail Grapplers on the factory chrome 18" wheels (LT295/70R18). The goal would be to someday upgrade the wheels to a set of Platinum 20's running the same Nitto trail Grapplers but with the 35"x12.50x20. With either set up is the projected leveling kit enough to prevent any modifications to the inner fenders and such or should I scratch the level and go with an minimal 4"? I am working on a budget and I'm done with my younger years of wanting a jacked up truck. I'm open to anyone insight and if I get flamed it's my own fault for not comprehending the info that may be out there. I appreciate your time and efforts and look forward to your responses.

I've asked before, but didnt get a response. Anybody ran a 295/70/18 with a 1.5" level on stock 18s? Most everybody runs them trouble free on stock wheels with a 2"? I currently have 275/70/18, and feel like there would be enough room, just curious what's the biggest tire people have ran with 1.5", thanks.

same question. I have a 2.5" level and planned on getting a +18 rim. Will the 295/70/18 fit without any rub or modifications? Also need to know if it will stick out past the flares. I'm in PA and they can be aholes about that.

I'm currently running BF M/T's 35x12.5 on stock 18 inch wheels with just a leveling kit on my 2012 crew cab with zero rubbing. I'm wondering of I can run the same tire just 37's with a 6inch lift and still with stock wheels?? Anybody have pics of their 6 inch with 37's on stock wheels????
