I'm running 295/70R18 Nitto trail grapplers on Xd series addicts with a +18 offset I believe it is on my 2011 with a level. I have no rubbing at all with some minor trimming.

sorry for the newbie question but here goes....i have a 2013 platinum 4wd supercrew with 275 55 20 tires...is there any way i can go from 20 inch wheels to 18 inch wheels and tires??....there just seems to be a lot more choices...what are the repercussions of doing that, if possible? speedo will be off? brakes ok? I am going to be installing a 2.5" front level and adding a leaf spring in the rear which should add 1.5" to 2" in rear. thank you in advance for not flaming me

hey everyone! i have been looking through all of the threads and am trying to figure out what size rim and tire to go with. I love th elook of a 20" rim, i like a little more rim than the 18" provides but have seen some nice set ups this way too. I have a 2013 F150 Extended cab, xlt, 3.55, 5.0, 4X4 and will install a 2" ready lift leveling kit. based on set ups i have seen i like this. I do not want a tire that will be real close to rubbing, i would prefer to have some clearance and want it to stick out about 1"-1.5"inch past the stock fender, no less than 1" though. i love the look of the nitto grapplers and similar tires for the rim. My truck is tuxedo black and i want to black it out. i do not want to lose a bunch of performance from going so big on the tires but would like to get a lot bigger than what i have, i have 17" rims on mine now with a little pathetic 235 75 R17 tire. it looks so bad i cant take it but i got a really good deal on the truck vs others. does anyone have any pics of their set ups which would be similar to this and could help give me some ideas on tire size, offest and related info?

i greatly appreciate the help from you all. thsi forum is awesome. I am constantly reading on this!!!! So much information on here!

Thanks,

Brandon

Check the tire fitment sticky first. Staying with your 20s you will find plenty of choices check some of the pic threads. One good thread is show your leveled f150 good luck

Brandon the tire fitment sticky will be more exact then anything with your lk and aal a 33x12
.50 should fit with the correct rims offset and back spacing are the biggest issue for rubbing

Hey guys,

I have a 2013 ford f150, xlt, 3.55, 4x4, super cab. current tire size is 235-75-r17 an dthey are so small. I am looking at putting a leveling kit or lift in it but would like to do a tire which looks good with a 2" kit and with out. I like the looks both ways. I have been going up an down on these forums trying to figure it out and have narrowed it down to these tries sizes and need to know if they will fit my truck stock with no lift or leveling kit. Even with a lift would keep like to keep the tire at around 33". I plan on going with a 20x9 rim because i like a little more rim than a 18" for looks.

I want to go with a

275-60-r20 = 33" tall x 10.83" wide

or

or 285-60-r20 = 33.5" tall x 11.22" wide

in either a Nitto trail grappler or goodyear wrangler duratrac tire.

does anyone have a set up with these size tires on it and rims? if so i would love to see pictures. I also need to get a feel for the offest needed on the rims to do this. i do not want the tires sticking out more than 1-1/2" past the edge of the fender.

Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

Either should fit just fine on a stock 4x4. As long as the offset isn't really out there you will be ok.

Well I am starting to get a little frustrated in my tire options. I am looking at running Bilstein 5100's to level the truck out ('13 FX4 3.55 gears). I want to run XD series XD800 "Misfit" wheels 18x9 with +0 offset and 5" of backspacing. I was looking at 275/70-18 tires. But it looks like most tires that size are meant to be mounted on a max 8.5" rim. I usually use my local discount tire for my purchases and they have been very "straight edge" in the past when it comes to not going outside of manufacturer recommendations. I want a load rated "E" mud terrain tire. I have seen everything 4wheelparts, tirerack, and discounttire.com list as available and nothing looks like it will either work with my wheel or is just not the tread/tire I am looking for. I want something with an aggressive appearance that performs well. Anyone with some insight to maybe something I have overlooked would be appreciated, it is getting late and I am tired of looking.

Cheers,

Brew

Try Ron's Rims in Edinboro PA or Rimz.com

Doesn't look like Ron's Rims sells tires. I don't want to change wheels. I just need to find a tire that is going to play nice with it. If I have to I will go to a lift instead of the ride height adjustable shocks to get a little more clearance. How does the Eco-boost handle tires that start pushing 35" with 3.55 gears? 3.55's seem a little tall in my head for that large of tire, and I am not going to re-gear the truck. At that point I would have to find a different rim option.
