Default Tire Wear Question

Hello all,

I have a 2010 XLT Supercrew 4wd. The truck has almost 30K miles and I am seeing some uneven wear on the outside edge of the front tires (original Wrangler SRA's 275/65 R18). They are causing some slight vibration. The rears are wearing evenly. I installed a 2" leveling kit about 10,000 miles (9 months) ago and had it aligned about 3 days later. Is this type of wear and life normal for these tires, or could it be related to the leveling kit? Thanks for any help.

Sounds like you need to have the alignment checked, I have a two inch level and my tires have been wearing evenly on the front, I have about 30k miles since the level.

I have a 2009 XLT with the same tires as you. I rotate them every time I change my oil (5000 miles) front to back, back to front. I don't cross them. I don't have a vibration, but the outside edge is wearing bad on all four tires. I am not at all happy with these tires. There is only 26,000 miles on these tires and I figure I will be changing them around 36,000. I will be buying a different brand.

Thanks for the replies. I rotate every 6-8K miles, and just recently began to see the wear on the outside.

These tires flat out suck for anything but dry pavement. Dont understand a 4x4 with the offroad package coming with these tires. Seems to be an alignment issue with my passenger side rear tire as it is wearing much faster than the rest, i have no clue why

Default for what its worth

recently put 4 new michellin ltx ms2's on my 2010 platinum super crew. very impressed with em.
much quieter than the stock pirellis and seem to have better grip too.

learned my lesson re: rotating. gotta do it every 5k to really extend the life of your tires.
