^ cause 100% of the time it's what people want, and 100% of the time other people shouldn't criticize about what other people like. Just saying. Oh by the way, when your going for the off road look tires that stick out looks good

Your idea of something that is "not needed" is far different than another persons idea of "not needed". That's so loosely tossed around.

I hope you're not as close minded as your post sounded.

I want it sticking out for a different reason....

If Im going to lift my truck, id also like to widen the stance for it.

I dont want to run down the highway and pull a corner Im used to pulling at 60mph, and then rollover because Im top heavy.

I guess it sounds like a performance thing, but i like to know what my truck can do and be experienced to pushing it to Its edge.

I just got new skins on it and the first thing i do is take it out for a rip, got up to 100km/h... All seemed well, up to 75mph.... The steering wheel was shaking. Got it up to 95mph, the steering wheel was shaking 3/4 of an inch.

So i went back to the shop, told him to rebalance the tires. He told me "it needs an alignment. You never know it needs an alignment until you put new tires on it.". I told him " rebalance the tires, and dont try to tell me my truck is a piece of sh*t again".

Same road as soon as i get the truck back, now i get 1/16th to maybe 1/8 inch of shake. I can live with it... Remember, Thats at the trucks top speed governed out.

So i Cant complain anymore.

Alignment my ***....

A stabilizer will also help.

I drive 99% of the time on Crappy oilfield roads 3-4 hrs away from any tow trucks and would perfer getting down the road with crap all over my truck then putting my rubber boots on and walking.

Maybe you can get a steel spacer installed. I had those on my many of my Mustangs and were inexpensive and worked really well. You can remove them in no time as well if you want to go back to stock. Personally, I loved the look but it was a headache cleaning it all the time.

thank you for your advice. i agree about a stabilizer would help, and i would have installed one, but the tires are stock size (275/65/R18) and the truck is not lifted.

prior to the shake, there was nothing. after the new tires, the shake was there... it's pretty simple to say that it was the tires as an issue. not an alignment.

I have a set of bigger fender flares on the way. Hopefully it covers because my truck gets dirty real quick.
I'm hoping the pic comes over with this quote (from 2nd post in thread) but this is sticking out almost a perfect amount. Maybe a hair less is actually perfect for me. Guess I know what tires to buy when it comes time to replace the stock ones.
