Tire Pressure Sensor Fault

Tire Pressure Sensor Fault
I was wondering if someone had input on an issue I am experiencing. I have an alarm going off on my dash indicating "tire pressure sensor fault". I have checked my tire pressure multiple times and the pressure is right. I started to notice that it comes on after going over a bump. I am not familiar with the tpms? sensors. Is it possible one is loose or do they fail like that? I do have a OBDC? reader but haven't pulled any codes. Would that tell me which one?

How old is your truck?
Its possible the battery is dying and that is causing the fault.

A sensor fault isn't indication low tire pressure, but an error in the TPMS system itself. Chances are good you have a dead battery or defective sensor in 1 or more wheels. My 2009 did the same thing for the last year before it was sold this spring. Dead battery. Mine would show up at low temperatures only at first (when battery output is lowered) and then all the time.

Sorry, it's a 2009 XLT Supercrew, 5.4.
I think the battery is less than two years old but I will start with that. I'm surprised it's related to this but two of you asked about it so that will be the first thing. I haven't seen a sensor or how it's attached so I was wondering if it wasn't fastened tight. Is that a possibility? Is it just on the back side of the valve stem and all one piece?

Not the truck battery, the battery in the sensors, inside the tires. They only last so long.
Yes, it is on the back of the valve.
You'll have to replace whole sensors, you don't replace just the battery.

Check ebaY® for *new* OEM Motorcraft TPMS sensors.
The last set (of 4) that I purchased was $60 (shipped) this past June. Previous sets were purchased for as little as $35.
