I had a battery go out in mine also. They only last so long. Id just run it until you get new tires put on then have it replaced.

Suzuki14258 - Mine does this if I use a certain USB charger
Q: Can other aftermarket devices affect the TPMS system?
A: Some aftermarket devices can cause radio frequency interference that will block the TPMS sensor signal causing an intermittent concern. This can cause the TPMS lamp to illuminate. Some of the more common items are: cell phone chargers, GPS power supplies, or any other aftermarket electronic device. Unplugging the aftermarket devices can help determine if they are the cause of an intermittent concern.

I used Forscan and turned off the TPMS system prior to putting on a new set of wheels and tires- sans TPMS parts. I've gotten by for the last 30 years without it, I sure as hell don't need it now.

Cool

I have had this happen three or four times (two weeks apart, more or less) in the last month or so. It seems to take 15-20 miles before it shows up. After I stop, turn off the engine and don't start it again for five mins. (or less) the error is gone. I do have a cell charger and radar detector plugged in most of the time. I will unplug both and see what happens. This is in a 2014 with 29000 miles on it (new in May 2014).

Mine comes on every once in a while and then goes off on it's own, but if you have aftermarket wheels you should do a relearn of the TPMS. You can also reset your TPMS by after driving turn off truck, turn ignition on but don't start truck and press the hazard button 3 times. One honk should be successful reset and 2 honks would be a non successful reset. The reset and re-learn are in the owners manual.

I've been having this problem after having new tires installed with an agressive tread design. The ride sucks compared to the toyo Mts I had and the same place installed both sets.

Exclamation

mywar - I've been having this problem after having new tires installed with an agressive tread design. The ride sucks compared to the toyo Mts I had and the same place installed both sets.
A few things ...
.
  • Not sure what "been having this problem' you're referring to - RonKleve (O/P) or others.
  • TPMS sensors are not affected by aggressive tread nor ride quality.
  • Without knowing your TPMS sensor particulars (e.g. age, brand, etc.) makes it difficult to comment and/or advise.
  • The thread is 3-years old and without a particular reference to one of the issues in the thread would recommend starting your own.
  • HINT/TIP: Put your vehicle information (year, model, cab, trim, engine, wheelbase, _x4 drive, mileage, modifications, etc., etc.) in your signature -OR- provide it in your posting(s).

2011 F150 STX
I joined this thread because of what I read as being a common problem of the Tire Inflation Warning popping up on the dash. I never had it come on till after I changed the tires. Before going back to the shop I took a minute to see if anyone else had ever experienced a similar issue.
