Default Tire help - head is spinning

I have been going over this and reading so much trying to make a decision, im gonna miss the sale on these bloody tires! Please help, im moving off my set of perelli's and want to jump into some duratrac. 25% off at CT right now. I have been going over some sizes and wanted to go into a 285/60/r20 with no level, stock truck. I have read there is some possible rubbing hard over backing up. I want to fill out the wheel wells keeping it stock for now as I have the maintenance warranty and was told not to make any mods till its up in 40k. What does everyone think, I could stay in the 275 60/65 range but love the look of the bigger beefier tire. I also heard if your only going to 33" best to stay with stock, not much of a difference, is this true. Heard good things about performance with the 285's as well. see below for specs

275/55/R20 stock 32"
275/60/R20 +3.4% 33"
275/65/R20 +7% 34"
285/60/r20 +5% 33.5"

Pleas help guys, going crazy over here.

How long until the warranty is up? What if the dealership put the leveling kit on?

honestly, Im not really into leveling it right now. just trying to find the best tire option right now. ive read so much just cant really decide on a size. I want it to look good but don't want that extra stress on the vehicle. I don't wanna go above 5% so im down to 275/60 or 285/60. 285's are a half inch bigger, but I guess you wouldn't even notice it. It will be grippier but weight more on the brakes and engine as you have more friction to overcome.

can anyone chime in on the 275/65's as they are a 7% upgrade, rubbing, handling, abs, speedo issues? Does it throw out your fuel calculations as well ie km's to empty, and distance per tank?????

I can't imagine they'd cause that much of an issue. My truck has 275-65s on it, stock. Granted, it is a different gen.

mine's a 2012 fx4. it sits high to begin with. Are you happy with the overall performance of the tires on that truck. Any issues. did it effect the comp much. A buddy told me that going to 60's it actually helped the speedo and synced it up with gps.

They're tires... haven't slipped and I never changed their size from when I bought them. Right now I'm upgrading to Nitto Ridge Grapplers though, which are quite a bit larger.

At 60 mph no one can tell the difference. Even with the biggest tire you'll gain no more than 1" of ground clearance. How much more do the bigger tires cost and is it really worth it for 1" ?

Back in the 70's when I bought my 1st 4X4 we had to do a lot of work and mods in order to make 32-33" tires fit and thought they were huge compared to typical 28" factory tires. I guess it is a matter of perspective, but I've never felt under tired at 32"

A lot of it is the "mine's bigger". Always amazed at the money that people pour into things like tires, especially those that could better use the funds elsewhere. To each their own.

ya I feel the same way. I guess if your talking an 1 - 1-1/2" then you really shouldn't stress that much. From pictures, I couldn't really tell a big difference either, the 285's are $400 more then the 275's after tax and are only .5" taller. The 275 60's are $1200 where the 65's are $1450, so I guess the $250 for 1" wont really matter visually and will only have me dealing with a out of spec computer ie gas, mileage, fuel and speedo.
