Default Tire advise, please!

Like most, I have no idea why Ford chooses to put Perelli tires on a 4x4 vehicle. I have leveled the truck and asking for advise and pictures on tires options on the factory FX4 20" wheels. I am thinking 305/55/20 Nitto Grapplers? Thoughts?

Go with BFG All Terrains. Pricey but if you shop around you can find a deal. Works great in the woods/fields and in the snow.

Trail Grapplers, Mud Grapplers, or Terra Grapplers? Big differences. Are you wanting an AT or MT tire?

EDIT: Or Dune Grapplers or Dura Grapplers? All of Nitto's truck tires are "XXXX Grapplers"

With the extended flares I would go with a wide tire like the 305x55x20 (33.2x12.5) just remember the 305's will be close to the upper control arm. I'd look at the Goodyear Duratrac also...kind of a hybrid MT and AT combination tire.

I second the recommendation on the Goodyear DuraTracs. I had them on my 4runner before I got my truck, and they were fantastic on and off road. It is a good midpoint between an AT and MT.
Others will need to chime in on whether the 305s will clear the UCA etc. Could also look at a 285/60/20 which would be 33.5x11.5. However, with the fender flares, something wider may be more appropriate, perhaps something in a 295 flavor?

Nitro terra grapplers are a nice tire. I had two sets on my Tacoma, first pair 60,000 miles road great till the end. 2nd set 50,000 before I traded in the truck and they still looked good. The were great in rain, snow, mud. Great tires, I hardly ever used 4wd while in the snow.

Thanks for the input! I feel like I might be one of the few who like the look of the OEM wheel!
