Default Tinted windshield brow, looks or function?

I have the factory tint on all my rear glass and 20% on my fronts. Never had a tinted vehicle before but got this done due to the black leather.

Was thinking if getting a 5% brow done. Is this really helpful or is it more for looks? How much did you pay? Going to call around today and get some quotes.

I had mine done on my ranger for looks honestly. I hated it most the times cause being taller I had to look thru the strip and the untinted part at same time lol
I'll be getting my windshield completely tinted at 50 or 35 percent in a couple weeks probably

That was my concern, it being awkward to look through.

I did it on my '09 F-150, cost about $50, it was worth it for me, I'm not tall so it doesn't obstruct my view out the windshield, and helps driving into the sun in the mornings and evenings.

I got a 5% stripe BOTH for looks and function. It definitely makes the windshield look better, and it is SO NICE to have when you are driving in the sun. Between sunglasses and the stripe, I could stare at the sun all day

I got mine done with the rest of my truck, so idk what the cost was... but it is so worth it.

***WARNING*****

Make sure you tell them that you want the stripe straight across on the bottom!!!!!!!!!!

They have to cut the tint a special way because of the curve of the windshield!!

Here is mine:

Notice in this picture how the tint stripe gets smaller in the middle... This is what will happen if you do not tell them you want it straight across on the bottom!

My truck came with it and it was the first thing I took off. It actually looked pretty good from the outside but it was annoying to me from the inside. Mine was REALLY dark so it was almost as if I couldn't see through it at all. If it would have been lighter, like the tint on my driver and passenger doors it would not have been so annoying.
