Default tint question

I want to get tint to make my truck look better on the back and the sides(all 4 windows). What % can i go with that i can still see out of? I heard you can't see very well out of them at night if its too high.

I recommend keeping it legal, which you can find Wisconsin's legal amount here:

I'm not telling you to break the law BUT "legal" in this case is B.S. Not saying that it doesn't happen, but I have never seen anyone pulled over b/c of their window tint although I have hear stories of it. I currently have 15% on all four of my window and visibility is fine at night. I think as long as you don't have limo tint all the way around you should be alright but then again it depends on the officer. Cops don't like walking up to cars that they can't see into (understandably so!) But I always put my windows all the way down anyways whenever I've been stopped and it's never been an issue. This is just my experience though.

I guess my main question is whether or no 20% is too dark at night, but you claim 15% is fine so i suppose i'll go with that.

Visibility should not be a problem w/20% on the fronts at night. If you haven't already, I would suggest skimming some of the links that superbleeder posted if you're still not confidant.

I used to have 20 % on my front two windows to match my back. Not only did they match perfectly, but it was not that hard to see out of. Alot of people complain about backing up a night....but i had no problems. so you will be fine with 15/20 %.
