I'm going to tint the front windows on my truck and I want them to match the already tinted rear windows. Does anyone know what % the rear windows are in a 2010 f150 XLT? I'm guessing 20% but I'm not 100% sure, here is a pic of my truck.......

In my experience I have found if you want a perfect match you should go around the 15% area. I had my last truck done 15% and it was a perfect match. It looked really nice but it was a little dark for driving at night. My current truck is 20%. Not quite perfect but good enough and a little easier to see at night. If I had it to do over again I would go 15%. I have some pics in my profile i am not sure if you can see the difference or not.

In Jersey, by law we aren't supposed to tint our front doors, but since my inspection on a new vehicle is 4 years from now I am going to do it anyway. I am going to go with 35% just so the local police don't give me a hard time. Had the local tint shop hols a piece up and on sterling gray trucks it doesn't look bad 2 differnet shades.

Thanks for all the info, the tint is either going to be 15 or 20. O ya, I forgot to mention that I'm doing it myself .......

I was thinking of doing it myself too, proably when I change out the front door speakers as I think taking off the door panels will be easier then trying to cut the tint around the contour of the door.

By the way, how do you like the side box steps? I was thinking of adding them to my XLT.

I would never even consider doing it myself. Especially being it only cost me $40 or $60. I do not think I have ever seen a home tint job turn out well.

yeah 15% is pretty damn dark... I had my Toyota done professionally with 15%, and it was really dark

I'll be getting 20% done on my front windows soon
