Question Time for new tires on my 2012 Platinum

I'm not very knowledgeable on the whole tire fitting situation. I'd like to get something more aggressive on my 2012 platinum but the whole thing just confuses the **** out of me. The stock tires look anemic so I'd like to go up in size I think. What will fit my truck and does anyone have any opinions on the Cooper ST/MAXX or the BFG TA KO2?

Thanks so much for the help.

Oh, 4x4, stock wheels, and no leveling kits.

BFG KO2's will be going on my 13 Platinum when my stockers wear out. I will be going with a 275/65/20 which is a 34" tire (up 2" from stock). I think they will fit without a level, but I will likely add a 2" level. If you just want to go up one size, go for a 275/60/20

This is my 5th f150 so far I've had two lifted and 2 lowered my platinum currently has the fox 2.0 kit on it but I didn't want aggressive tires cuz it's a waste of money if it is my daily so I went with goodyear wranglers 275 60 r20 good tire they hook like a mother

Good advice. If its a daily driver and you don't need an aggressive tread and depending where you live (snow and ice) then save your gas mileage and get a reasonable road tire. An aggressive tread will hinder your mileage a bit. Summer tires I get just over 19 MPG and with winter tires (snow and ice) my mileage drops to low 17's. Course, some is probably from remote start/warm-up in the AM as well.
Play with this to see where you want to go.

The only thing I don't like about the KO2 is that it doesnt have a bead protector built into the tire like Goodyer Duratracs or Kelly Safari's.

If you're on 20's get a wide enough tire that you aren't going to scratch up the wheels by touching a curb etc. I know the stock 20's on mine looked like **** on the bead because the previous owner curbed them a lot due to the stock 275's not being much wider than the wheel.

I'm running the Toyo AT2's P275x60x20...only 43lbs so you'll still have some performance...traction and not take a big hit in the mileage dept. They will fit easily at stock height on a 4x4.

I just booked my appointment for this Friday. I decided on the DuraTracs over the BFG's , mainly because the DT's are 20% off this week.. Also getting a 2" level done as well.

So my set up will be 275/65/20 Duratracs with a 2" level .

If ya'll interested I can post before and after pic's once its done

Yeah please do,

Back to OP, I actually am quite fond of the ST MAxx. They clean out great and are a good mix between an MT and AT. Just depends what u are looking for.
