Is it time for me to grow up?!
That is the question my wife asked me last night when we were out to dinner with some friends. I'm about to make a major career change and will need something that gets better milage. I won't be sitting behind a desk anymore. I can get an incredible deal on a used 2014 Explorer Sport. It's loaded to the gills with everything except parallel park assist. (I wouldn't trust it anyway!) I want the explorer but I love my truck. If I decide to get rid of the truck, I'll be removing the aftermarket accessories and returning it to stock over the next month. So to my wife's question, is it time for me to grow up an out of my truck moding? They do make aftermarket mods for the explorers but would I miss having a truck as much as people are telling me I will?
Here are some updated photos of my truck and a photo of the explorer I'm looking at.

I do not need a truck. If I do need a truck we have a family farm just up the street with every type of truck or equipment ever needed. From pickup, to flatbed, to dump truck.
I wouldn't fit in a fiesta, lol. I'm 6'6" 265lbs

The explorer gets just about the same mpg as your f150. Like the other guys said if you need something for mpgs get a car. Also if you like modding your truck I would keep on doing it, you only live for so long might as well be happy.

Get a Taurus or a fusion for better mpg. The diff between the truck and explorer is minimal.
15k miles at 17 mpg v 15 k miles at 21 mpg when gas is $3.50 equals an annual saves under $600 annually. What the cost to sell or trade and how many years will it take to pay back that difference?

I was gonna get a fully loaded 2013 tuxedo black explorer sport but once I saw my truck I fell in love even harder than I did for the Explorer lol.
Tell her what I told my old lady. I'll use my money for my truck if I want as long as bills are paid lol (we aren't married and funnier thing is we aren't together now and I'm currently looking for an apt lol)

The EPA ratings on the Explorer Sport are 16 city/22 highway.
The EPA ratings on your F150 are 15 city/21 highway.
Although the Explorer Sport would be fun to drive w/ the AWD Ecoboost. The minimal savings on fuel aren't enough to justify the trade. Now if you just want something besides a pickup truck, go for it.

Your truck looks tastefully modded and not over the top.
As long as you stay away from lifts/ huge rims/ huge offsets/ loud exhausts you can still look very professional in a truck.
