ticking/ clicking 4.6 3v when warm
Hi everyone,
I know there are several threads about a ticking 4.6 3valve motor, however I have not been able to find one that describes the following symptoms my truck has.
Over the course of the last 3 months or so my truck has had a tick, or clicking sound that progressivly gets louder when the engine is revving, or accelerating, but only when the truck is warm.
I have been told everything from injectors, lifter noise, to most recently spark plugs leaking causing an exhaust leak.
the truck has 94K miles, I am the second owner and it has been serviced regularly its whole life at the same dealership.
In this time I have had the truck at the dealer for oil changes twice and they have not made any mention of this noise, however they have alerted me to other issues.
I am concerned that this is potentially a big problem, but I do not know where to start to try to narrow it down. Im concerned that the dealership has not made any mention even when I questioned the sound.
Thanks for any input.
