Ticking After Oil/Filter Change.
I had the oil/filter changed and after I picked the truck up it had a tick like a lifter. They changed the oil filter to a Motorcraft and it momentarily went away. It has come back and will go away once the motor is warm. When cold it ticks every time. The truck is a 2012 STX 5.0 w/ 97k miles. Any ideas...thanks.

Who changed the oil?
What oil did they use?
What weight did they use?

Chances are good that the noise was there before the change and you were just more ‘tuned in’ and heard it afterward. And I doubt the filter brand or the subsequent switch to Motorcraft had anything to do with it. With a 100k there is also a chance that the oil port for the lifter has some build up or the lifter has some wear. Correlation is not necessarily causation.
